I too am seeking information of a John W. Imes.
My John was born about 1857 in Indiana. Unsure of his parents.

My John Imes married sometime around 1885-1890 to Leafy Lucas b. February 1868 and the daughter of Thomas P Lucas and Sarah Catherine Ritter. This marriage probably occured in Monroe County, Indiana although I have not been able to locate a marriage record as of yet. John W and Leafy appears to have moved on to Gallatin County, Montana. This is where Leafy died on December 11, 1907 at the age of 39 years old.

In the 1900 US Census John and Leafy are shown in Gallatin County, Montana with four children. Three sons; William, Harold, John, and one daughter Leslie. There may have been an unknown dec'd child as well.

After the death of Leafy two of her children were moved to Monroe County and can be found in the home of Leafy's sister and brother-in-law Gus C and Desdemona Davis.

Could we be seeking information on the same John W. Imes?
