You mentioned the book, Anne Arundel Gentry, HWN. It is extremely important as to what printing you are using. The original book was published in 1933 and HWN made several corrections in a subsequent printing in 1970. Among these corrections was the children of Thomas Iiams b. 1708 and the relationship of Eli Iiams who married Catharine Crawford. There were other errors but HWN refused to correct them.
A little history, E.B. Iams, Harry Wright Newman,Erwin Bickley [unpublished] knew each other and it was with pressure applied by these and others that eventually made HWN correct the errors.
It is important that you use the 1970 edition as it contains the corrections. I have these books.
Much has been posted in the Message board under Imes, Iams, Iiams & Ijams.
You mentioned Richard 1745-1825 [1745-1834]

Sometimes her name has been used as Elizabeth but Eleanor is correct. The s/o John Iiams [1716/20-before 1778].
Richard Iiams b. 1781-d.20 feb 1829 married Mary Shidler
Richard was in the service and was sickly. After his death, his wife moved to Indiana where some of her children had already located. s/o of Richard 1745.
George Iiams b.Jun 24 1819 married Elizabeth. George was the s/o Richard Iiams and Mary Shidler.
