From your information, I think that we are talking about the same family. Mary's name was Mary E. Scarburough born 1823 probably,
from SC, married to William Carter born 1813 probably, from GA, children George (1841 AL), Jane Elizabeth (1844 MS- married Sandy Harrison -4 July 1871), Sarah Ann (1846 MS - my gg grandmother who married Shadrick Carter 3 Dec 1862, then John Impson, my gg grandfather 29 Jan 1872), John P. (1848 LA - married Comelia Owens 6 Jan 1874), Wm. (1850 LA - 1931 & buried Ruggs Bluff, Point, LA married Frances E. Wall 9 Jan 1870), Parthenia (1852 LA), Joseph (1854 LA- 2 Feb 1893, married Matilda Jones Moore 7 July 1880), Cornelia (1856 LA married Thomas G. Guice 27 Aug 1881), Elias (1857 LA)Martha Ann(1859LA), Nancy (1862 LA), Jefferson (1865 LA),I think my John Impson is buried at Point.
