Jacqi,
I can see your confusion. I did a few quick searches on Ancestry and found Hugh K. Gordon is on the death record in 1912 in Allen County. On the 1900 census he is listed as Hugh R? Gordon and on the 1910 census he is listed as Hugh K.Gordon. These are the same person as the wife Susan and children are the same.On one census he lists his parents as born in Ireland and on the other he lists his parents as born in Pennsylvania. Also the census records are almost illegible as to the middle initial. I know this probably only adds to your confusion. But that's what genealogy does.
