Your William Bennett was already married to Arminta, and had two small children in 1860, living in Dallas Co. MO. He could not have similtaneously been a 15-year old teenager in Illinois; so not the right family there.

Believe your William was living in Adams Co., IL, in 1850, age 21 (which would be about right). Unfortunately, he was a laborer, living in someone else's household, so no clue there as to his parents. Did he have a death certificate in 1901? Obit? Known siblings?
