I don't see any marked grave for Joseph Craig in Sandcreek or Rockcreek Townships; and I have a very thorough list. If he lived in the Elizabethtown vicinity, the most like cemetery would be Donaldson, a couple of miles east. Springer Cemetery is closer to Elizabethtown, but was not established until the 1870s. We have no newspapers from that era, and civil death records weren't begun until 1882.

There is a large Friends cemetery, south of Elizabethtown, closer to Azalia. Any evidence that they were Quaker? There were periods when the Friends didn't use markers at all--guess that was a humility thing--but they did keep good records.

Do you know what brought Joseph & Mary Jane to Bartholomew Co. in the first place? Other allied families here? I have very few Craigs in my Bartholomew Co. database, none with Ohio ties that I can see. Database is never complete of course. I will add specifics about your Joseph & Mary Ann, since he is presumably buried here, and Lydia was born here. Have picked up the marriage dates; I could add death details for Mary Jane, and the Craig children if you have them.
