Guyla, I don't have any info on this Townsend, but I am always looking for any Townsend in Indiana. My G Grandmother was Susanna Townsend, I always thought this was her maiden name, but can't be sure.Her husband, my G Grandfather was Thomas Hawkins..I don't know what happened to Susanna, but Thomas showed back up in Indiana about 1900, with two children. He died shortly after of lung fever of some sort. All I know about that is , my Granma Flossie said they had to prop him up real high in bed so he could breathe. They had apparantly been living in Missouri. One of the two, thomas or Susannah, were of Cherokee lineage. Have you run across any of these people in your search? Thanks, Lana Shipley Carter
