Dear Caralyn,

I thank so. To make sure did they have a son by the name Sherman Kern the story gose is that williams father Johann came over from america when william was 4 or 5 and in 1862 William at the age of 16 joined the union army and marched under sherman dearing his march to the sea. And that is why he named his son Sherman. I do know that William was buried next to a Elizabeth Kern I assumed she was his wife.Shermans married a Emma Amick there children were Leslie,Frank,Fonie,Edith,Lela,May,Beulah, and George.
I'm desended through Frank. He maried Anna Bell Nelson And he eventuly moved to Illinois and worked on the rail road.
I hope it is him My kern relitives are dying for Information on this line.
