Dear Caralyn, Thank you for this Information. My Kern relitaves will love it they have been dying for something to pop up. I have a family story I don't know if your husband has heard of this but when our kern branch came to America it was three brothers and their families. Each brother spread out in different parts of the country and they eventualy lost contact with each other.Do you thank this is true? In my last post I said that Frank Kern worked for the Railroad in Illinoise. They had a child William Sherman Kern named after his grandfather and great grandfather. There may be other children. After William finished Grade School they moved back to Indian and they llived in Posseyville. Later they moved to Evansville. Some of my cousin still live there. I have never met them nor know there names. I have a question did William Kern fight in the Civil War. I searched records and norrowed it down to A William S. Kern in the 100th Indiana Infantry and a William Kern in the 53rd Indian. Do you now any of these. I'm still in search of the ship Johann and family came in on I have had not any luck yet.
