I think it's more likely that Sarah J. Reynolds was the dau of Richard Reynolds & Sarah Hancock than James & Ruth Reynolds. James & Ruth had a daughter named Sarah but she was living with them in 1850. This Sarah's middle initial was A. and she was b ca 1832. On the 1880 census Sarah Hoke gives her parents' birthplaces as KY. Ruth Reynolds was b in IN where Richard & Sarah were b in KY.

Have you found any more info on the Hokes since your post?
