Searching for roots of PERSINGER families in Clay Co, IN

I'm attempting a detailed study of Persinger families that migrated to the midwest in the 1800s and notice there is a significant contingent of them in Clay County, Indiana in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Wonder if anyone can help me determine the earlier ancestry of those before they migrated to Clay County, Indiana, and if anyone could outline those Clay Co.
