I found the passenger list. It had been misspelled as GLADISH, not GLADWISH, but the entry is John and Mary Ann and son John.
They arrived 8 April 1857. I suppose within 5 years he had to file an intent.
Does anyone know if the historical society has indexed these or if anyone will do a search for intent?
He was in the army by 1862 so that should narrow the years to be searcged.
