My great-grandmother, Mercy Dulcina Rose, was born in Butler, DeKalb County, Indiana, on March 17, 1861. Her father was Jesse Rose; her mother was Electa Handy, daughter of Charles and Mercy Handy. Is anyone researching those lines? Electa Rose is buried in a small country cemetery near Butler. Jesse Rose is buried at Fort Ripley, Minnesota, as is Mercy (Della) Rose and her husband John Henry Schamp.
