DeVonne:
Do you have dates for your John George Link? Here is what I have based partly on documentation and partly on info from an aunt:
George Link came to America with several brothers and sisters in 1833. They separated and never wrote or visited each other. George and his family traveled from New York to south-eastern Ohio where he settled on a farm in Columbiana County, Ohio in 1834. There his wife died of milk sickness in 1835. She is buried in a Beaver Township cemetery. We do not know her name. In 1837, George married Mary Magdalena Lugenfelter (Maggie), the mother of Sophia (Link) Farrington (our link to the Links). They migrated to DeKalb County, Indiana in 1845 via covered wagon.

It appears that George Link went by his middle name. His full name was John George Link. His tombstone shows John G. Link. He is referenced in his son Solomon Link's death record as John; same for Sophia (Link) Farrington's death record. However, in his son, David's death record, he is referred to as George. Furthermore, on Mary's tombstone, it says "wife of J.G. Link".

John George was born about 1799 in Leipzig, Germany according to family information (no documentation). He died in DeKalb County, IN October 21, 1867 and is buried in the Waterloo, IN City Cemetery.

Children of J.G. and Magdalena:
Ada, Arthur, George Junior 7/8/1838, Elizabeth 1840, Sophia 3/15/1843, Solomon and David (twins)7/31/1845, Phillip 1847, Polly 1847 and Henry 1849.

Does any of this fit with your John George Link data?
Dotty Hiatt
