I don't know if this helps, but in the History of Dekalb Co., list an Edward W. Flint as a member of the Church at Coburn Corners who was killed in action or died in army.

There is also a Gustin Flint who mustered in on 7 Mar 1864 and out on 29 Aug 1865, who was an elder at the same church in 1879.
