Thomas and Hannah (Preston) Whitney, John C. and Harriet (Preston) Smith, & Serepta Preston and Lewis Smith (who married in Nov. 1830), all came to Delaware County, IN, during the winter of 1829-30. They spent their first winter at Stout's Mill, which was later platted as "Smithfield".
It appears that Reuben Preston, born in November 1812, and Oliver Preston, born in 1814, also came at the same time.
Were they brothers of the three Preston sisters?
