Connie, thank you for all of the census information. I do not have Ancestry, so I greatly appreciate all of your help.
With the recycling of names and the husband (John) not living with his wife (Sarah) the year before he died, and she calling herself a "widow" makes for some interesting information.
I am looking for the Preston grandfather of Sarah E. Preston, as I think her father might be a brother to my g. g. grandmother. I keep hoping I will come on to a younger generation that will know the origin of Phineas Preston, born 1819, in Ohio.
