Willie Arson Pence was my grandfather. He was married to Ethel Rees from the Muncie, Indiana area. They moved to Phoenix, Arizona in the mid 1950's after their only son, Eldon Leon Pence (Sr) moved there for the dryer climate because he and my sister (Beverly Joan) suffered from asthma. Willie became ill after a trip to Mexico and died in the early 1960's. Ethel died in the 1970's. Willie had been a farmer all his life and farmed 40 acres near Daleville, Indiana until moving to Phoenix. He had only the one son and a daughter, Margaret I believe, who died as an infant. Leon passed away in 1988 in California. Chester Pence was one of Willie's brothers. Alfred Pence, Willie's father, fought in the Civil War.
