Hi!
Do any of you know a Murry (no 'a') family from Dubois? The Murrys were in Dubois in the 1860s. My 2nd gr grandmother Martha Ellen Murry McCarty was from this family and married James Allen McCarty. She died in the county on Janaury 16, 1916. Her parents were Richard Murry and Francis Pollard. They died in the county, 18903 and 1883, but there are no records for their deaths.
Martha Ellen had a brother named William C. Murry. He was born in Nashville TN in May, 1856. He can be found in the 1930 Dubois census, alive and well. I recently tried to get his death cert. from Dubois--struck out--and then the state of IN--struck out. I am hoping to find exact places of birth for his parents by getting his death certificate. Maybe someone out there was or is familiar with this family. Any help would be appreciated!
