Can anyone tell me if divroces in this timeframe are recorded, and if so, are they recorded in the county or the state archives?
We are trying to find the death date for Ellen (Nellie) Patterson married to Gilbert Patterson. They appear in the 1900 and 1910 census in Elkhart, but in 1920 an "Ellen Patterson", older and from a different state, is listed as Gilbert's wife. This could just be bad census data, or a different person. I have checked with the state and Elkhart for the 1915 to 1919 period for death date for Ellen Nellie Patterson and she wasn't listed.
Any help would be appreciated.
