In 1850 they were in Floyd Co, In. They were both born in Pa. Their children were all born in Indiana. He was born about 1822. Not much to go on! William Conner is such a common name! Without knowing Melinda's maiden name it is impossible to search for her.
Do you know where in Pennsylvania he might have come from? That would help. He was only 18 in 1840 so that census wouldn't name him with his family.
