Looking for anything on this man and his family. The name, SPELTS, was interchangeable with PELTS in KY, IN, MO, & AR in the 1800's. Is Catherine SPELSE (in Floyd Co. IN census) his wife? They could be the parents of Joseph PELTS [b. 1832/IN & d. 1900/near Kennett (Dunklin Co.) MO] who is my gr-grandfather. I cannot find Wm. or Joseph in any 1850 census. Joseph's sister, Rachel (1842 - 1901), married John G. RAPP (1840/OH or KY)- 1901/MO) in Louisville, KY ca 1865, resided in Hot Springs, AR before moving to Malden (Dunklin Co.) MO ca 1885 and later learned that her brother, Joseph PELTS, also lived in that county. I can't find Rachel & John G. RAPP in census until 1900.
