Several men from Greene County were killed in the Battle of Richmond, KY. Among them were James Bender, William Irvin, Stephen Merrill, Henry Norman, William Pope, and James Smith. The Battle of Richmond Association would like to correspond with descendants of these or any other person known to have died or been wounded in that battle. The date was August 30, 1862.
