The "Indiana Boys' School" was established in 1867 as the House of Refuge for Delinquent Boys. The first boy was registered on January 26, 1868 and by the end of the year there were 112 boys living at the school. The name was changed to the Indiana Reform School for Boys, then to the Indiana Boys' School and is currently known as the Plainfield Juvenile Correctional Facility.

From what I understand...the Center has closed. You might look at this web site and see if there is an area that can help you locate records.

Good Luck.
