Have you checked all the available census in Ohio, IN, MO,
KY, Tenn. and TX? Seem as though this family did lots of moving.
Annie Stites, sister, age 17 is living with Smith Stites in the 1910 census, Indiana. By 1920, Annie is not with them. Perhaps there was a marriage for Annie. This could be researched in Henry Co., IN.
I found two Stephen Stites in the census. One aged 38 in 1860 census in IN and he was born in Ohio. The other was age 56 in 1920 census in MO, born in Texas.
