Kathy, Here's what I found:

1880 census Sarah J Finch living with Hugh and Rachel Johnson.
1870 census Jane Finch living with Amos and Rachel Cook.

When I search for a Rachel Finch I found an 1860 census record - Harrison and Rachel Finch. I didn't spend a lot of time on this. All parties were within Howard county.
Looks like Rachel was married 3 times.

This will hopefully get you over the brick wall.
