I am researching my great grandfather Thomas Emory Cook b 1863 in Rush Co., IN. His mother was Sophia E. Cook and was not married at time of his birth. She married David Smith (b 1827) in 1867. David had a previous marriage to a Mary Jane Cook (possibly Sophia's older sister) and had several children by first marriage.
Sophia and David Smith had at least 3 children: Dora (male); Jennie and Anna.
Sophia then married 3rd time to John W. Taylor in 1898 (he had previous marriage and some kids). They moved to Oklahoma by 1910 census.
David Smith and his first wife made their home in Howard Co and with Sophia as well.
My ggreatfather was found on the 1880 census with his uncle, William G. Cook. Wm married Anna Young. Wm had a brother Isaac Cook who married Laura Murphy. both brothers were living in Howard Co by 1870 census records and lived next door to each other.
I have very early tin type pictures with some of these persons named. I have tin types of Isaac Knight and Missouri Smith Knight, Missouri being dau of David and Mary Jane Smith.
I would like to find cousins, share these early photos that I have and find a death record of Sophia Cook Smith Taylor.
Sharon
