I am researching the HUGHES family of Kokomo, Howard Co., IN and possibly other counties of IN.
I would like to know if any HUGHES researcher out there has come across information about ISAAC HUGHES b. abt. 1861 d. 1948 Kokomo, IN of a stroke married LIZZIE CAMERON (on their son Austin's birth rcd it has her listed as C. CAMERON) said to be of Miami Indian descent.
They had 5 possible children: 1. FLOYD/Lloyd HUGHES 2. AUSTIN CLEO HUGHES b. March 8, 1896 Kokomo, Howard, IN d. Dec. 27, 1981 Kokomo, IN WWI Vet. married (1) LaFERN DAVID (2)Marie Davis - stepmother
3. HARMON HUGHES b. Sept. 4, 1893 Kokomo, IN also WWI Vet. 4. LENORA/MINORAH HUGHES 5. HOWARD HUGHES **these last 2 were said to have been put in the orphanage after their mother died (date unknown).
The IN census is unavailable in my area so I've not been able to do a lot of research on this family line.
Any help with the HUGHES or CAMERON family names would be appreciated.
