MEAD drowning betw. 1900 - 1910 - lived in Huntington

In 1900, Charles & Josephine MEAD lived in the city of Huntington, Indiana with their children, Ralph Mead age 7, and Mildred Mead, age 3. According to the memoirs of a relative, Ralph & Mildred accidently drowned. Their mother, Josephine P. Mead, was so distraught, she doused herself with gasoline and died after she set herself afire.

Since this MEAD family does not seem to appear in the 1910 Census, I believe this event probably happened between 1900 and 1910. Would someone be willing to see if a Huntington newspaper article covered this event? Unfortunately I do not have access to a death index CD for exact death dates.
