I am looking for information about Frederick Blum and Caroline Arnold. They immigrated from Germany (Bayern) supposedly Munich. Frederick about 1850, Caroline two or three years later. They were married in 1855 in Huntington. The name appears as Bloom in the 1860 and 1870 census and on their marriage information but after 1870 is always Blum. They had ten children at least two of whom were short lived. Six boys and four girls. All except one son appear to have remained in Huntington. I have found most of the family in various Huntington Directories. One son Harmon, was a clerk then possibly a merchant. He had a son Lowell who lived about a month. Later his wife Lizzie died and he married again and adopted two children Jaunita and Charles. Another son Frederick Henry Blum, My grandfather, was a shoe salesman and or repairman as was his father. F. H. was married three times, two daughters from the first marriage, a son (my father) from the second, and then a third with no children. Frederick Henry seems to have travelled back and forth to California several times. He died Dec. 1945 in Los Angeles, CA. I am trying to find Immigration information ship passage and/or any other family information from the Huntington area. Frederick Sr., Caroline and some of the children are in St Peters Cemetary, Huntington. Notify Administrator about this message?
