I am looking for the names of the parents and the cause of death for a Benjamin Franklin CRANE of Jackson co, IN.
Emily "Emma" Lett married Benjamin F Crane in Jackson co IN 14 Jan 1864 (marriage book E-C page 44).
Emily A Lett CRANE married Phillip COX in Jackson co IN 29 Sept 1865.
Years later, after Phillip died, Emma filed for a widow's pension based on his Civil War service. She stated in her application that her first husband died in April of 1863!
If anyone knows of this Benjamin Crane, I would like to have his date of death, his parents names, and the cause of his death. Was he a Civil War casualty? There was a Benjamin CRANE who served in the 16th Ind Inf (Co I).
Any help appreciated!
