Lost descendant of Thomas Johnston, 1712-1778
Posted by: Paul Lee Stickley (ID *****4007) Date: August 25, 2002 at 05:08:12
  of 252

This great grandson of Thomas & Mary (Rogers) Johnston was a physician in Jasper County for a short period of time in the War Between The States period. He was known as Johnson rather than Johnston. His given name may have been Israel or Ezra or Isaiah. His mother is Catharine Ann Johnson; his father is believed to be Alexander Johnson. Dr. Johnson was married several times. This elusive Johnson has a distinguished grandmother Elizabeth (Whitacre) Johnson, born in NC, married to Thomas Johnson, Junior, of Frederick County, MD, in NC. She lived in Montgomery County, OH, in the last 20 years of her life as Widow Johnson.

This inquiry is not a comercial venture, rather one of a descendant seeking to round out his Johnson family history. Please respond if you have information of any kind about Dr. Johnson. The time frame may extend from 1850 to 1870.
