Not my family line, just sharing.

From the book "HISTORY AND BIOGRAPHY, COUNTIES OF WHITE AND PULASKI INDIANA. Historical and Biographical. Illustrated. Chicago; F. A. Battey & CO., Publishers. 1883."
page 413, West Point Township, White County, Indiana

"WILLIAM JORDAN, Jr., was born in West Point Township, White County, Indiana, January 16, 1845, and is one of the twelve children of WILLIAM and CATHARINE (SEXTON) JORDAN, the names of the surviving being MOUNT ETNA, TELITHA CUMI, JOHN, SARAH J., GEORGE H. and WILLIAM. The father of our subject was a native of Cabell County, West Virginia, born December 17, 1803; was a farmer, one of the earliest settlers of West Point Township, and died May, 1876. When twenty-two years old, WILLIAM moved to Carpenter Township, Jasper County, Indiana, where he resided ten years. In October, 1863, he joined the Forty-eighth Indiana Infantry; he was in the battle of Kingston, North Carolina, and was mustered out July, 1865. On December 13, 1867, he was married to OLIVE M. MOFFITT, by whom he had seven children - MALALEEL, FANNIE, MERTIE, WILLIAM, CLAUDE, GRACIE and ORA, the second and last two being deceased. MR. JORDAN resides eight miles southwest of Wolcott; he has 320 acres, 70 of which are pature and 50 timber, and besides general farming, raises horses, cattle and hogs; his farm is finely improved. MR. JORDAN is a member of the Masonic order, and he and wife are members of the Presbyterian Church. He is an old settler of his township, and a very excellent gentleman."
