While researching my STEVENS line, found this obit for the wife of Robert J. STEVENS, who moved from Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co, IN, to Rensselaer bef her death.
Mary Philomene KETTERER m Robert J STEVENS of our Lafayette IN STEVENS line. Here is her obit:
"Mrs. Mary P. STEVENS, 87, formerly of 1212 Central St., died at 10:50 p.m. Monday in Jasper County Hospital, Rensselaer. Born at Lafayette, she lived all of her life here until moving to Rensselaer three years ago. In 1922 she was married here to Robert J. Stevens, who died in 1967.
"Mrs. Stevens was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Ladies Altar Society, Mission Sewing Club and Study Club. She also was a member of St. Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary.
"Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Delos (Mary) Keiper of Rt. 4, Rensselaer, with whom she made her home; three brothers, John Ketterer of Rochester, Mich., and Joseph and Francis Ketterer, both of Lafayette; and two sisters, Mrs. Leo (Louise) Butz and Miss Helen Ketterer, both of Lafayette."
