Kent,
You can rule out Blackford County on the marriage record.
I checked three marriage books which covered the timeframe
from April 1929 - April 1941.
This marriage record isn't here in Blackford County.
The only other thing I can think of would be military
records,if James served in the military. Then I'm not
certain if there would be any info on these records
to help or not. But one never knows ??
You might try Wells County,since it's close to Jay
County. Then there's Adams County,right in the same area
as Jay & Blackford.
But then they might have slipped over into Ohio to
get married ??
