The Fort Wayne Weekly Sentinel December 13, 1916 BAD FIRE AT PORTLAND Portland. Ind., Dec. 12.—The J. W. Donaldson dry goods, shoes and millinery .store was gutted by fire early Sunday morning, the conflagration leaving but little of the first floor stock undamaged. The fire is of unknown origin, but is believed due to an overheated stove, the heat causing the holidays decorations with which the store was adorned to ignite and smoulder for some time until they broke out in flames. The loss is estimated at $12,000. Notify Administrator about this message?
