We are looking for information pertaining to Willis Bishop (1835-1872) who lived in Jefferson and Scott Counties in Indiana and Macoupin Co. IL. We also would appreciate any information you can provide about his wife Sarah A. Eads, and their children, grandchildren and other descendents.

Willis T. (or F.) Bishop was born circa 1835-36 in Jefferson Co. IN, the son of Thomas Bishop and Sarah Todd. He died circa 1872 in Macoupin Co. IL.

Willis Bishop had a brother, Thomas W. Bishop, and a half sister, Delilah C. Bishop. His parents moved from Shelby Co. Kentucky to Jefferson Co. Indiana prior to 1827. Sometime between 1840 and 1850, the family moved to neighboring Scott Co. Indiana.

Willis Bishop married Sarah A. Eads circa 1861-62. Does anyone have the exact marriage date and location? Sarah A. Eads was born circa 1841 in MO. She was the daughter of William Eads and Margaret Morin who were married in St. Louis in 1834. William and Margaret Eads had six children but only Sarah Eads grew up to have children of her own. Willis and Sarah Bishop had at least three children: Hattie, Maggie, and Delila.

1. Harriett (Hattie) M. Bishop, born Jun. 1863 in MO. She married George Wyman Cummings on 21 Nov. 1883 in Macoupin Co. IL. He was born Feb. 1860 in IL. They had at least four children:

b. Willis Eads Cummings was born 1 Sep. 1888 in Mexico MO. He is married and living in Kansas City MO on 1 Jun. 1917.
c. Robert Clyde Cummings was born 28 Jun. 1891 in Bunker Hill IL. He is married and living in Greeley CO on 5 Jun. 1917.
d. Harriet J. Cummings was born circa 1901 in IL.

2. Margaret (Maggie) Bishop, born circa 1868 in IL.

3. Delila C. Bishop, born circa 1869 in IL. Married 1890 to Mr. Russell?

After Willis died circa 1872, his wife Sarah married (2nd) Charles Ellison Norcott on 29 Mar. 1875 in Macoupin Co. IL. Charles and Sarah Norcott had five children. Sarah died prior 14 Feb. 1916 in Chicago Cook Co. IL. She was buried 16 Feb. 1916 in Montrose Cemetery Chicago Cook Co. IL.

Any additional information that you can provide about Willis Bishop (1835-1872), his wife Sarah A. Eads, and their ancestors and descendents would be greatly appreciated.
