Lynette, Hi! I can help you on this line, I just received a letter, that Della (Baxter) Brower wrote to my aunt in 1965 concerning the family.

Perilda (Spelled several different ways) was a Lovell and she had 3 marriages. By the letter Della sent Perilda's First marriage was to a L. Macarty (I believe it should be L. Martin. Second marraige to George Baxter 20 Oct 184, the letter says that George traveled over the country fixing watches and clocks. He started to Madison an was never heard of again George Wallis was born a couple of months later, years later a skelton of a man and horse was found and believed to be him. A woman who said she was his sister came from Calif, and wanted to take Nellie or Della to raise, Missouri Ann Wainscott (George Wallis Baxter's 1st wife) Wouldn't let them go. They never heard from her again. She was supposedly English.

Thier is more in the letter about Misssouri Wainscott and Della Gertrude Wortman or Workman, Della was a second wife.

George Wallis Baxter is buried in the Salem Cemetery in Ripley Co., IN. Perlida Brown is buried in the Brown Cemetery in Jefferson Co., In.
