I am a Vawter researcher. This is what I have. (4) 17 Oct 1850 Mrs. Martha (nee McGannon) Pearce b. 8 Mar 1822 d. 21 Jan 1892 National Archives, Seattle Branch, War 1812 Folder Index John Vawter, Major in Col. McFarland’s Det., Indiana militia. John’s tombstone in Morgantown, IN, the inscription written by himself: With all his Titles.
