I'm interested in a death record,obituary,will for Henry Deputy b.De.?children born Delaware & Wood Co.,Va.. This Henry was reported to have died in 1852 in Jennings Co.,In. I don't know if Deputy researchers got this date of death from a grave stone,or if there's a death record in Indiana. A lot has been posted about the descendants /ancestors of this Henry Deputy. I'm having trouble verifying this information against actual records.It seems his date of birth is based on the idea that his parents married in 1776. No marriage record has been found to date. Research has this Henry Deputy m.#1 Sarah Ann Warren #2 Nancy Hays. No marriage records to date. Henry Deputy does not appear in Wood Co.,Va. until 1810 tax & census list. A Solomon Deputy appears in earlier tax lists until 1810,he was said to have removed to Indiana. A Zachariah Deputy also appears on the 1810 Wood Co.,Va. census.It's believed Solomon & Henry were brothers.By 1820 Wood Co.,Va. census,a John Deputy appears w/Henry & Zachariah. By 1830,An Andrew Deputy appears w/Henry & Zachariah but,John Deputy does not appear.No Deputys appear in the 1840 Wood Co.Va. census,however,Deputy research has a William Deputy w/children born in Wood Co.,Va. before & after 1840. A William Deputy never appears in tax or census lists in Wood Co.,Va. Nor does Joshua Deputy,who research also has w/children born around 1810 in Wood Co.,Va. Since Esther Deputy's 1817 Wood Co.,Va. will named sons Henry,Joshua,and William,was this an attempt to tie up all these loose ends? Would like to try and verify the children of Henry Deputy,through his death,will,or obituary.
