Thanks Sheila, I appreciate your taking the time to get me that information. That fits rather nicely.

1830 United States Federal Census > Indiana > Jennings > Montgomery, p142
Patsy Peoples
1 male 0/5
1 female 10/15
1 female 40/50

Those would most likely be:
John Francis Peoples, infant minor son of Hector & Patsy (Lett) Peoples (born circa 1825-1830)
Elizabeth Peoples, daughter of Hector Peoples & Patsy (Lett) Peoples (born circa 1815-1820)
Patsy (Lett) Peoples (born circa 1790-1800 I had her figured to about 1793, from other sources and the ages of her siblings)

Greenville Winscot married Elizabeth Peoples 7 October 1835, Jennings county, IN and a Greenville Winscott was listed as an heir by marriage in Hector Peoples's estate settlement.

Hector's estate settlement was still going on in 1838-1839, but I had no real information on when it began. Since Hector was not in the 1830 census, he must have died shortly before that time. No mention of the widow remarrying was made in the abstracts, I guess I need to hunt up the full originals to double check.

Patsy is a nickname for Martha. Perhaps, then, this is Patsy?:
Martha PEOPLES married John Cox on 24 Sept 1834 Jennings county, IN

I suppose I now need to look for Martha (perhaps as part of the couple above) in Jennings, Jackson, or Scott counties in the 1840 census. John Francis Peoples should still be in his mother's household, even though John Hopkins was his gaurdian. I should also check for Elizabeth with Green Winscott.

Can you help?
