Alexander Littlejohn and Savannah Wilkerson

I am trying to research information on the following family history.

Alexander L Littlejohn born in Indiana, he married Savannah Wilkerson in about 1850 but I think she died by 1856.

Would like to find out Alexander's parents if possible and any stories or information about them.

After Savannah died, Alex moved to Iowa and remarried. he and his 2nd wife adopted a baby boy and named him Francis Marion.
The odd thing on this is - Savannah Wilkerson had a brother born in 1835 that was named Francis Marion- which is really not a common name - but there appears to have been a few of them in the Wilkerson line. Wondering what the connection to all of this is - and what the parentage of the baby boy was.

Any help out there is gladly accepted and most appreciated.
Or a direction on where I can search.
