I found an old Bible in an antique store, no name in Bible but four newspaper clippings of obits. The obits relate to: 1. Lillie Olive (Ollie) Hire dob 6-28-1876 and dod 12-16-1892, age 16. parents: Isaac and Maria Hire. Funeral service was in Christian Church at Palestine, J M Baker officiating. Long, touching obit. 2. Clara Lawrence Hire born Silver Lake Ind 4-27-1872 the youngest of 8 children of John Lawrence and Lucinda Leffel. Clara married Ote Hire 9-26-1891. She died 9-17-1892 aged 20, 4 months, and 20 days. She leaves a kind husband, and a father, three brothers and two sisters to mourn her loss to them, but their loss is her gain. Funeral services in Christain Church at Palestine, J M Baker. 3. Alton Hamman, son of John and Margaret Hamman dob 10-24-1879. Died at parents home, Beaver Dam, December 8, 1896, aged 17 years, 1 month, and 14 days. He leaves a father, mother, three brothers, one sister and a host of sympathizing relatives and friends.... Funeral services were held in United Brethren Church at Beaver Dam, conducted by the pastor, his remains were laid to rest in the Palestine cemetery to await the judgement. J.T.K. 4. Elizabeth Ellen Moon (nee Eiler) dob July 30, 1845 Huntington County, Ind, united in marriage to Wm N Moon, July 4, 1867. To this union was given three children. Two preceeded their mother in the glory world. Funeral at Palestine, Rev W. F. Smith. A card of thanks by Wm. N Moon and Ollie Moon was also included under the obit. Transcripts of the obits are posted in the appropriate surname Forum with the exception of Hire and I could not find a Hire Forum. Notify Administrator about this message?
