Help with my fathers plane crash into a drive in movie theater

I am trying to find some information about my Father who had a plane crash around Michigan City in the 1950's..There was an article about it in the local newspaper at the time, but I dont have an exact date......Can anyone help me with this???My fathers name was Thomas Walter Shaw,and him and his Brother Kenneth Shaw crashed my fathers plain into a drive in Movie theater...Im thinking that it was probably between 1950 and 1956..He did have a Pilots License.I know this is vauge, but it is all the info I have, Thanks for any help...Tom Shaw
