I'm looking for ancestry of Anna Maria Larman. She arrived in this country through Baltimore on Oct 9, 1848 from Bremen on the ship Teresa. She was listed as Maria Elizabeth Larmann, aged 4 years old, port of origin was Luhlengen. Other people on the ship were: Johann Heinrich Larmann age 2 from Luhlengen Bernhard Joseph Larmann age 29 from Lichtengen Maria Agnes Tichlh Larmann age 36 from Rulle Johan H. F. Lehrmann age 18 from Woden Alexander Anton Luhrmann age 26 from Osnabruck All of these people were bound for Cincinnati, Ohio Oral history has it that Anna came to this country with an aunt. In 1857 at the age of 13 she was made the ward of Solomon Canady in Indiana. Her name was carried as Mary E. Larman. The 1860 census has her in the house of Francina Canada, who was head of house. She was listed as Ann M Larman age 15, born in Germany. 10 years earlier Francina last name was spelled Kennedy and her husband was Solomon. She married Samuel L Robins* in La Porte County, Indiana. Samuel and his family lived 2 houses away from the Canada household during the 1860 census. * The License was issued to Sammuel L Robbins and Anna M E Lammon on Feb 3, 1865. The minister certified the marriage of Sammuel Robins and Anna M E Larmon on Feb 6, 1865. If any of these names ring a bell and anyone can add to my ancestral information, I'd greatly appreciate the assistance.Samuels ancestry goes back to 1651 in New Haven Ct. I'd really like to get past the stumbling block resulting from Annas 1848 immigration, apparently in the company of relatives that eventually turned her over to the court system.
