Confined to the LaPorte hospital for several weeks, he finally returned to his home and conducted official business from his bedroom. Dr. Robert Wilcox, who was summoned by Mrs. Darrow and who pronounced the mayor's death as due to heart failure said the injury received in the reviewing stand collapse was probably not contributory to his death.
Surviving the deceased are his widow, a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Swasey of LaPorte, and a grandson, Arthur Swasey, Jr.
