Hi! I have run into a 'brick wall' in locating
the parents and siblings of my GG Grandmother
Matilda PHILLIPS, b. abt 1812 in KY (?), m. 4 Mar
1830 in Lawrence Co., IN to my GG Grandfather
William BRYAN, b. 17 Oct 1801 in TN, the son of James Robison BRYAN and Mary ANDERSON. One source has listed Matilda as the daughter of Samuel PHILLIPS, b. abt 1778 in KY and d. in
Lawrence Co., IN. I have confirmed her marriage
in Lawrence Co., IN, but need verification of her
birth in KY and that Samuel PHILLIPS was, indeed,
her father. A tax list or census for Samuel for
the years 1796--1846 and any death information on
him would be helpful. Also, any information on
his parents and siblings would be great!. Thanks.
