Thomas
Thank you for finding the information. The only thing that dosent match my records is the marriage.
Horace Stratton b. Jan 11 1853 to Prominent Quaker Richmond family Benjamin Stratton and Emily Lathrop Stratton In 1877 He married Emma Cooper Grandaughter of Caleb Witt. Prominent Doctor and Minister in Dublin Indiana. as you found they lived with Caleb in 1880 with son John. In the stratton Book of Strattons there is a second son Benjamin born 1881. Then in 1893 Horace marries Anna Conger in Peru Indiana. Horace is Buried in Earlham Cemetery Richmond. The Witts are in Middle cemetery in Dublin. Ive tried the collage, library in Richmond, cemetery books for both cemeteries. Nowhere can I find what happened to Emma after 1881 and before 1893. Horace and anna had two girls one born a month after his death. the must have never been told they had older half brothers ,because no one in our family every knew of them or the first marriage. But between 1881 and 1893 His first wife Emma just drops of any records it seems. Being two prominent families I can not understand where she went. a person would think she would be buried in one of the same cemeteries. If she didnt die, a divorce but then why no record or new marriage record for her.Somewhere between 1881 and 1893 Emma is missing.she was born 1860 Emmas parents were John Cooper b.1827 and Mary Witt Cooper b.1840
