Dear Beth Rasmussen,

I had the 1850 census of Harrison R and Elizabeth (Davis) Painter. The other information was new. Washington started out with the Union, but changed to the Confederates. William Wayne and James Riley served in the Civil War together. However, James was captured and was abused badly. Both James and William became sheriff's. James of Brizil, Clay County, Indiana. William of Guthrie, Logan County, Oklahoma Territory. I am going to try those other sources. Thank you for the information you provided. If you come across more let me know. Washington had four children and was married to the same wife twice. Washington killed a man in a bar. He was defending himself. I wonder if it was because he changed sides in the Civil War. This happened in Rockville.
