William Connerly was born in Ireland and emmigrated to North Carolina and there married. He engaged in agricultural pursuits until 1821 when he removed to Lawrence Co, In. He bought land there and remained until his death. He was a Baptist in religion and raised a family of seven sons and three daughters.
